![]() ![]() If you’d prefer to watch or listen along, we’ve embedded a video from Arekkz below that goes over all of this information below. Here’s our guide to the Charge Blade, one of Monster Hunter World’s most interesting weapons, so you can get the best out of your builds and combos. Once you start to dig deeper though, there’s tons of tactical play, strategic combos and hidden mechanics to wrap your head around before you can truly master the art of monster hunting. Best way is to try a lot.At its surface level, the combat system in Monster Hunter World is quite simple - you hit giant monsters on the head with even bigger weapons until they fall over. To help you pick, go for atk/def mechanics first considering quality over quantity, then think about teamwork (it's a great way to think about how much u like to close combat vs 'hit and go' and how u contribute/die in battles with that weapon and if ur satisfied), and if you still unsure which one to pick look at design, status or element and really don't think too much you can always change. CBs are attention grabbers ) But I confirm there is no better weapon, play them both and see what you feel it more yours. (Kinda like playing as a wizard in DND vs as a sorcerer)įor me the Saxe clicked bc I felt more free to do other things, to appreciate other aspects while playing along and it felt more natural to pick moves in the middle of the battle without being too limited to follow a long charging chain to deal massive dmg. Maybe more moves yes, but it could be dispersive and harder to master, for someone it could be a great reason to go for the CB and to learn. I just say try both and see the one that u find most fun/or how u could be more useful to ur friends. what I liked of the charge blade was also using it like a agile sword (but it doesn't do much damage unluckily.).ĭon't let size of the switch axe stop u from trying it, it's actually faster than it looks and also you can stick to monster and explode them powerful attacks on their faces. Plus, yellow sparks weren't as cool for me as the red ones for the switch axe. very frustrating not to be able to make the blade climax. Most of the time u would end up charging and charging and charging to do that powerful blow and then either the monster dies before you do it or the monster will interrupt the process continuously (especially charging monsters like Tigrex). (must charge sword then shield then you can do THAT pizza cutter cool attack). So much happier now.Ĭharge blade was not enough fun/satisfying for me: it took too long to do the "pizza cutter" power attack and during the battle I focused so much on charging it that I couldn't enjoy the battle rhythm/ the monster/ some cool things u could do like using objects, environment etc. ![]() I changed from Charge blade to Switch axe long ago.
